This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading design consulting firm in the U.S., with a focus on growth, community involvement, and employee development.

Principal Responsibilities

• Responsible for complete design by discipline for projects of all sizes.
• Makes major design recommendations and decisions with minimal input from senior staff.
• Plans design work, calculates costs, and manages schedules, assigning duties to junior staff.
• Coordinates design and schedules with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, and equipment suppliers.
• Maintains project design documentation and provides data for permanent files.
• Acts as an advisor, reviews correspondence, and evaluates staffing requirements.
• Attends project meetings, prepares proposals, and maintains client relations.
• Identifies prospective clients, assists in marketing, and develops future projects.
• Assists in quality control and performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans and drawings.
• Understanding of construction materials, methods, and tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and BIM software.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to perform quality control checks.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least 8 years of experience.
• Or a minimum of 13 years of experience without a degree.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly sit, walk, stand, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
• Occasionally drive, kneel, crouch, reach, and grasp.

The salary range is $101,000-$141,000, with additional benefits including bonuses, stock options, health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
