Job summary

Ashton North LLC seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead product design engineering for a manufacturer of temperature sensors, sealing products, and engineered assemblies. You will guide technical decisions, review complex designs, and mentor engineers from requirements through production release.

You will drive design reviews, coordinate with customers, sales, manufacturing, and quality to ensure manufacturability and robust product solutions while upholding quality standards.

Qualifications

• Progressive product design engineering experience with responsibility for complex technical decisions and design delivery.
• Engineering leadership experience managing people and multiple development projects.
• Strong command of mechanical design, CAD, GD&T, materials, and verification methods.
• Ability to lead detailed design reviews and guide engineers through difficult problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, establish priorities, allocate resources, and manage project commitments.
• Provide hands-on technical direction for product architecture, mechanical design, materials selection, tolerances, and design verification.
• Lead concept, preliminary, and detailed design reviews; challenge assumptions and resolve technical risks before release.
• Translate customer performance, environmental, and interface requirements into clear engineering specifications and validation plans.
• Oversee drawings, bills of materials, design calculations, engineering changes, and controlled product release.
• Partner with sales and customers on technical feasibility, application requirements, proposals, and custom product solutions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality to improve manufacturability, address field or production failures, and support new product introduction.
• Build engineering capability through coaching, clear technical standards, and consistent design and project management practices.
