Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead in-house mechanical design and CAD development for next-generation display systems in Software Defined Vehicles. You will own the mechanical architecture, ensure packaging, styling, manufacturability, and vehicle integration across teams from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 3+ years of product design experience, or 10+ years without a degree.
• Experience with GM engineering tools (NX Teamcenter Vis Mockup, CAD release & data management).
• Strong understanding of product development and manufacturing processes (injection molding, stamping, machining, extrusion).
• Familiarity with CAE-supported design development and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and CAD development for vehicle display systems and electronics integration.
• Create packaging concepts and virtual layouts to meet system, styling, manufacturing, and program requirements.
• Develop and maintain CAD models, assemblies, and release data using GM tools.
• Drive display integration across the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP).
• Perform packaging studies, clearance analysis, tolerance reviews, and design evaluations.
