Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer - Level 4 to join the MEP Team in San Diego, California. This 100% onsite role develops and designs composite components, assemblies, and tooling, collaborating with Manufacturing and Test to ensure successful hardware delivery.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with extensive experience in aerospace design, NX/Teamcenter, GD&T, and DFMA, and must be able to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with relevant aerospace design experience.
• Experience with aerospace materials, bonding/fastening, and product definition.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and GD&T for complex tool assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Design complex assemblies including high strength composite laminates and honeycomb structures.
• Create tools and fixtures for manufacturing and testing of composites.
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings; perform hand calculations and analyses.
