Job summary

National Design Build Services LLC is a mechanical design/build firm delivering HVAC, refrigeration and process systems for data centers, industrial facilities and commercial projects. The Senior Engineer owns day-to-day mechanical design, performs calculations, selects equipment, and produces IFC drawings while mentoring junior engineers.

This role supports design-build and design-assist delivery, coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years HVAC/R design experience; data center, mission-critical or industrial experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or EIT with ability to obtain PE.
• Hands-on experience with chilled water, hydronic and process piping design.
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE, International Codes, NFPA, and ASME piping codes.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or designers.
• Ability to meet deadlines while juggling several projects and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop the mechanical design on assigned projects from basis of design through IFC drawings.
• Perform heat load, hydraulic, psychrometric and pipe sizing calculations; select equipment.
• Prepare drawings, schedules and Revit models; run Navisworks clash detection.
• Coordinate with plumbing, structural, electrical, civil and controls designers and sub-consultants.
• Draft sequences of operation; support PLC logic and BMS integration.
• Track deliverables, engineering hours and status reports to Lead Engineer.
