Salas O’Brien is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Pulsed Power & Experimental Systems to provide hands-on mechanical and opto-electro-mechanical design for complex hardware in LLNL environments. You will develop precision components, generate controlled drawings, and ensure fabrication readiness in a fast-paced research setting.

The role requires 15+ years of design experience, strong CAD skills (Creo/SolidWorks), GD&T expertise, and the ability to coordinate with diverse teams.

Formación

• 15+ years of progressively responsible mechanical design experience

Responsabilidades

• Develop mechanical and opto-electro-mechanical designs for complex systems
• Translate requirements into detailed 3D models, drawings and released design packages
• Support hardware through full design lifecycle from concept to testing
• Apply GD&T and ASME Y14.5 principles and tolerance analysis
• Create, revise, check, and release CAD models and drawings in Creo/ProENGINEER or SolidWorks
• Coordinate with machine shops, suppliers, and procurement to meet project schedules
• Lead or coordinate the technical work of designers and detailers and ensure design quality
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, physics, controls, and manufacturing teams
• Support design reviews, configuration management, and continuous improvement of processes
