CornerStone Professional Placement is assisting a growing data-center-ready manufacturer in Dallas–Fort Worth area to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. This role leads mechanical design and development of complex electrical equipment, working across Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to deliver reliable, manufacturable solutions.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of professional mechanical design experience in engineered-to-order, industrial equipment, electrical infrastructure, or similar manufacturing environment.
• 1–2 years of direct mechanical design experience involving low-voltage switchgear, switchboards, or related electrical distribution equipment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Experience with PDM, PLM, or comparable engineering document-control systems.
• Strong sheet-metal design and fabrication knowledge.
• Experience releasing complete manufacturing documentation packages.
• Experience with engineering drawings, BOMs, ECOs, and revision-controlled docs.
• Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings, blueprints, and electrical layouts.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles.
• Experience supporting production teams and resolving manufacturing design challenges.
• Ability to lead technical execution across multiple projects.
• Experience mentoring other engineers.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the mechanical design and development of low-voltage switchgear, switchboards, and related distribution assemblies.
• Design enclosures, structural frames, barriers, mounting systems, cable-management, lifting provisions, ventilation, and service-access components.
• Develop detailed 3D models and production drawings using SolidWorks.
• Maintain BOMs, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and revision-controlled records.
• Support multi-section equipment configurations, shipping splits, installation interfaces, alignment, accessibility, and serviceability.
• Design mechanical solutions for high-current distribution systems (approximately 1200A-6000A).
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering to ensure layouts support bus systems, breakers, cable entry, metering, clearances, safety, and electrical functionality.
• Lead DFA/DFM activities to improve manufacturability, quality, and production efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to standardize components, improve modularity, reduce custom parts, and increase reuse.
• Create and manage engineering change orders, redlines, deviation requests, and release documentation.
• Participate in design reviews ensuring performance, safety, compliance, manufacturability, and serviceability.
• Support prototype builds, pilot production, and first-article manufacturing.
• Provide engineering support during factory testing, product validation, and certification.
