Job summary

MiniMed is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an on-site role in Northridge, CA. The engineer will research, design, verify, and validate mechanical and electromechanical systems for production and energy use, and may oversee the transfer from R&D to manufacturing.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s with 4+ years in a regulated industry (or advanced degree with 2+ years). Travel 20-30% domestically and internationally is required, with Nice-to-Have in medical device experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years' relevant experience in a regulated industry or advanced degree with 2+ years' relevant experience in a regulated industry.
• Fixture design, deployment and validation on the manufacturing line required.
• Experience with manufacturing line validation (DOE, Process development, IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Solid Works / CAD Modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Researches, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems for production and energy use.
• Recommends technology options or approaches for system or process improvements in safety, performance, efficiency or costs.
• May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
