Job summary

MiniMed is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for our Sustaining team in California. You will be hands-on with circuit boards, analyzing complex electronic systems, and driving reliability improvements that directly impact patient lives.

You will lead junior engineers, mentor technical talent, and collaborate with manufacturing and contract partners to resolve issues and implement design changes while ensuring compliance with FDA QSR and ISO 13485 standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a Baccalaureate degree.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Jr Engineers, fostering technical excellence and growth.
• Diagnose and resolve complex circuit-level issues using advanced testing methods.
• Investigate root causes of field-reported issues and manufacturing challenges with technical judgment.
• Lead development of electrical test systems for failure analysis and product improvement.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and engineering to resolve issues and transition activities to operations.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers to meet objectives and implement innovative solutions.
• Identify alternate sources and design changes to address obsolescence and supply chain challenges for Diabetes products.
• Ensure compliance with FDA QSR and ISO 13485.
