Job summary

MiniMed is seeking a Principal Mechanical Process Development Engineer in Northridge, CA for electromechanical medical devices, including insulin pumps and sensors. You will lead development, validation, and design transfer while applying Six Sigma, DOE, and GR&R to ensure robust manufacturing readiness.

Collaborate with Design Engineering, NPI, Manufacturing, PMO, Quality, and Regulatory teams to meet milestones; travel to supplier and manufacturing sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering with 7+ years in mechanical product/process development or Master of Engineering with 5+ years.
• Experience with electromechanical medical devices and design transfer to manufacturing.
• Strong foundation in DOE, regression, ANOVA, and process capability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead product and process development for electromechanical medical devices.
• Drive design transfer to manufacturing and high-volume feasibility.
• Apply DRM/DFSS/DFM/A during design and development.
• Perform process characterization and TMV activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams.
• Present findings to teams and management; travel to supplier/manufacturing sites.
