Placements24 is actively seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a client in Upington, Northern Cape. The role focuses on designing, developing, and refining robust machinery for mining, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors.

You will manage the full design process from concept through CAD modeling to prototype development and production support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes, with proficiency in CAD

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of mechanical design experience in industrial machinery.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or Inventor) and simulation tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design mechanical components and systems for industrial machinery using 3D CAD software.
• Perform engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and motion simulations.
• Create detailed drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure producibility and quality.
• Support prototype assembly and testing of new machinery.
• Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, or operation issues.
• Participate in design reviews and documentation updates.
• Research new materials and technologies for applications.
