Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks an Industrial Enclosures Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver outdoor-rated, high-volume enclosures for power converters. You’ll own parts from concept through production, using first-principles design and CATIA V6/3DX.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, test, and manufacturing engineers, as well as external suppliers, and contribute across CAD, analysis, prototyping, and testing. Strong communication and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar.
• 5+ years of full-time industry experience designing outdoor-rated industrial enclosures for electromechanical parts or assemblies.
• 5+ years of full-time industry experience with 3D CAD (CATIA V6/3DX preferred).
• Strong engineering fundamentals including a basic understanding of electronics.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes: sheet metal, stamping, injection molding, diecasting, extruding, fastening, riveting, welding, dispensing.
• Experience with ingress ratings and seals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design mass-manufacturable parts and assemblies for large industrial enclosures and related components.
• Own parts and assemblies from concept to high-volume production.
• Design using first principles and optimize via structural and tolerance analyses.
• Create 3D designs and 2D drawings using CATIA V6/3DX.
• Perform prototyping and testing as part of development.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, test, manufacturing, and reliability teams and suppliers.
