Job summary

Optima Engineering seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Greenville, SC to join our employee‑owned, multi‑discipline firm. You will design HVAC and related building systems for higher education, municipal, K‑12, and commercial facilities, collaborating with project managers and cross‑functional teams.

The role requires a SC PE license, a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, and 5+ years in MEP building systems. Proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in South Carolina is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP building systems design for multiple facility types.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical system designs from concept through construction with project teams.
• Design HVAC systems including air distribution, heating, and cooling equipment layouts.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and calculations using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection.
