Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions, a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer focused on Data Center IO products in Santa Clara, CA.

Lead design, analysis and qualification of hardware for customer systems, while coordinating with global teams and suppliers to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions. You will interact with customers, present concepts early in development, and define verification and qualification plans to ensure performance and reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical analysis, design validation and risk mitigation.
• Familiarity with GD&T, material selection, and statistical methods.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design and develop hardware to integrate IO connectors into customer systems.
• Perform Design FMEA, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability and risk analysis.
• Lead product design reviews and coordinate with internal and external manufacturing teams.
• Ensure manufacturability, validate prototypes through pilot production and beta sites.
