Type One Energy Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of systems and components for our stellarator fusion power plants. You will translate design requirements into functional components and provide mentorship on a variety of projects, with emphasis on vacuum vessels, divertors and plasma‑facing parts.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proven leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Expert in mechanical design, failure modes, and lifecycle reliability.
• Proficiency in cost, schedule, and resource planning.
• Experience with first-of-a-kind components design.
• Familiarity with CAD/analysis software.
• Experience with fusion energy systems is desirable.
• Experience with Siemens NX is highly desirable.
• Experience operating in a CAD-PDM environment.

Aufgaben

• Translate design requirements into functional stellarator components.
• Develop system and component designs and specs.
• Align interface requirements across stellarator systems.
• Develop and validate FE and CFD models (ANSYS, COMSOL, and others).
• Resolve fabrication-related technical questions.
• Mentor junior engineers on projects and systems.
