Type One Energy Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Manager to lead the Systems Engineering function in support of the development and commercialization of our stellarator fusion energy technologies.

This role combines hands-on engineering with leadership of a team of systems engineers and requires collaboration with Physics, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Program Management to establish and manage system requirements, architectures, interfaces,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of systems engineering experience across product development or complex technical programs.
• 2+ years leading engineering teams or cross-functional technical efforts.
• Experience applying systems engineering principles across full lifecycle of large-scale systems.
• Experience developing system architectures, requirements, interfaces, verification plans, and documentation.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, including requirements and architecture development, integration, verification, and validation.
• Develop and maintain program-level technical baselines with traceability from objectives to subsystem requirements.
• Oversee system integration across multiple engineering disciplines and external partners.
• Lead and mentor a team of Systems Engineers, setting goals and driving performance.
• Establish and improve systems engineering processes, standards, and governance.
