Job summary

Thea Energy seeks experienced mechanical engineers to own the design and development of primary and secondary components for their stellarator fusion systems. You will handle structural and thermomechanical design, manufacturability, analysis, development, and commissioning of components with a collaborative team.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in mechanical/related fields, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/CATIA/NX), and experience with machining/fabrication specifications, GD&T, and fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/related fields required.
• Experience designing, building, commissioning custom systems.
• Experience in mechanical engineering CAD and tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of mechanical fusion components and subsystems.
• Produce mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, and parameters for vendors and manufacturing.
• Design tooling for assembly and qualification testing.
• Perform thermal, structural, and electromagnetic analysis using Ansys and COMSOL.
• Support tooling and manufacturing implementation and first builds.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to align on specs.
