Job summary

Oil States Industries, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer III to become a subject matter expert in CAE/FEA for offshore riser components and hang-off systems, working with operations, manufacturing engineering, quality and project management.

You will perform model setup, run FEA, interpret results, and suggest design improvements; lead prototypes, interface with customers and certifying authorities, and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of direct experience.
• Advanced experience with FEA and proficiency in Abaqus and SolidWorks Simulation.
• Applied theory in designing with elastomeric materials.
• Strong data analysis, organizational and communication skills.
• 5–10% travel, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a CAE/FEA SME and set up models with boundary conditions.
• Interpret loading conditions and verify results against standards.
• Lead R&D projects for new products and materials.
• Mentor junior team members and interface with customers and authorities.
