Job summary

Oil States International is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer III to act as a CAE/FEA SME for offshore riser components and hang-off systems. You will model, analyze, and validate designs, while collaborating with operations, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure compliance with industry standards.

The role requires leading prototype testing, guiding junior engineers, and interfacing with customers and certifying authorities.

Qualifications

• Master’s or BS with direct experience as specified.
• Advanced experience with FEA using Abaqus or SolidWorks Simulation.
• Applied theory in elastomeric materials design.
• Strong data analysis and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication; travel 5–10%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a CAE/FEA SME; interpret loading conditions and analysis outputs.
• Set up models, boundary conditions, and troubleshoot convergence.
• Run and interpret FEA results to verify performance and propose solutions.
• Lead R&D on new products and materials; prototype design and testing.
• Interface with customers and certifying authorities; mentor teammates.
