Job summary

NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze mechanical systems for installation shore facilities. You will perform HVAC, plumbing, utilities and industrial ventilation designs, develop project plans, and ensure QC in all in-house design work products.

You will prepare statements of work, government estimates, and participate in pre-negotiations and bid evaluations.

Qualifications

• Current PE license required; active status with date of currency.
• Experience reviewing facilities construction drawings for mechanical adequacy.
• Experience designing HVAC, plumbing, utilities and industrial ventilation systems.
• Experience writing statements of work, estimating fees, negotiating, and evaluating bids.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop layouts, construction drawings and specs for facility mechanical systems.
• Provide technical guidance and QC to in-house design projects.
• Identify risks in planning, design and construction and develop mitigations.
• Prepare scopes of work and government cost estimates; assist in negotiations.
• Provide post-construction services, including review of contractor submittals for conformance.
