Evolv Technologies Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to own mechanical design across products from concept through validation and production tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design of electromechanical products, preferably in consumer electronics, industrial, or security systems.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD system; Arena PDM experience preferred.
• Understanding of processes and part design for plastic injection molding, sheet metal, and machined parts.
• Understanding of processes for molding large plastic parts such as RIM, structural foam, or structural web molding.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFx, tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T, materials selection, and variation in multiple part types.
• Experience with Arena PDM or a similar PLM system.
• Experience working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and mid-volume production environments.
• Familiarity with structural, thermal, and vibration analysis using FEA or other simulation tools.
• Experience with modern prototype fabrication such as 3D printing.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Portfolio of work with brief descriptions of challenges and contributions.
• Experience with basic hand tools for concept and prototype assembly.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical design and development for new and existing products, emphasizing injection-molded plastic components.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and production-ready drawings in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD system.
• Translate product requirements into mechanical design specifications and contribute to design reviews and technical decisions.
• Design precision electromechanical assemblies and enclosures throughout the lifecycle from concept to sustainment.
• Apply design for manufacturability and reliability to improve robustness, quality and cost.
• Perform tolerance analysis, structural and thermal validation, and root-cause analysis on issues.
• Collaborate across engineering, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing for cohesive system integration.
• Work with contract manufacturers and suppliers, including international partners, to improve manufacturability and yield.
• Support tooling, fixture, test-equipment design, prototype builds, and validation activities.
• Manage CAD data, BOMs, and engineering documentation using Arena PDM.
• Ensure compliance with Evolv quality-system and product-certification standards (UL/CE).
• Research new materials and processes; prototype solutions to improve performance and cost.
• Contribute to a collaborative, iterative engineering culture.
