Evolv Technologies Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to own mechanical design across products from concept through validation and production tooling.

You will model, analyze, and spec electromechanical components with a focus on injection-molded plastics, enclosures, and reliable performance in real-world environments. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design of electromechanical products, preferably in consumer electronics, industrial, or security systems.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD system; Arena PDM experience preferred.
• Understanding of processes and part design for plastic injection molding, sheet metal, and machined parts.
• Understanding of processes for molding large plastic parts such as RIM, structural foam, or structural web molding.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFx, tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T, materials selection, and variation in multiple part types.
• Experience with Arena PDM or a similar PLM system.
• Experience working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and mid-volume production environments.
• Familiarity with structural, thermal, and vibration analysis using FEA or other simulation tools.
• Experience with modern prototype fabrication such as 3D printing.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Portfolio of work with brief descriptions of challenges and contributions.
• Experience with basic hand tools for concept and prototype assembly.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical design and development for new and existing products, emphasizing injection-molded plastic components.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and production-ready drawings in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD system.
• Translate product requirements into mechanical design specifications and contribute to design reviews and technical decisions.
• Design precision electromechanical assemblies and enclosures throughout the lifecycle from concept to sustainment.
• Apply design for manufacturability and reliability to improve robustness, quality and cost.
• Perform tolerance analysis, structural and thermal validation, and root-cause analysis on issues.
• Collaborate across engineering, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing for cohesive system integration.
• Work with contract manufacturers and suppliers, including international partners, to improve manufacturability and yield.
• Support tooling, fixture, test-equipment design, prototype builds, and validation activities.
• Manage CAD data, BOMs, and engineering documentation using Arena PDM.
• Ensure compliance with Evolv quality-system and product-certification standards (UL/CE).
• Research new materials and processes; prototype solutions to improve performance and cost.
• Contribute to a collaborative, iterative engineering culture.

As aMechanical Engineer III,you’lltake hands-on ownership of components and subassemblies throughout the product lifecycle—from early concepts and rapid prototypes through design validation, production tooling, release, and continuous improvement. Using SolidWorks and Arena PDM,you’llcreate reliable, manufacturable designs with a strong focus on plastic injection molding and integrated electromechanical systems.

You’llwork closely with electrical engineering, firmware, industrial design, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing to solve complex design challenges and turn ideas into products that perform reliably in demanding, real-world environments. Success in the Role

In the first90 days, you will:

• Build strong partnerships across mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, firmware, industrial design, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing while developing a solid understanding of Evolv’s products and development priorities.

• Become proficient in Evolv’s SolidWorks and Arena PDM workflows and contribute effectively to design reviews, documentation, and engineering-change processes.

• Take ownership of defined components, subassemblies, orsustaining-engineeringassignments and deliver high-quality designs, prototypes, drawings, or analyses with support from the broader team.

In the first 12 months, you will:

• Independently own mechanical design work for assigned product features, components, or sustaining initiatives from concept through validation and release.

• Deliver reliable, manufacturable, and serviceable designs that appropriately balance performance, cost, quality, and schedule.

• Drive product improvements byidentifyingroot causes and partnering across manufacturing, quality, and supplychainto implement well-documented design solutions.

The Work

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and production-ready drawings in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD system

• Translate product requirements into mechanical design specifications and contribute to design reviews and technical decisions

• Design precision electromechanical assemblies and enclosures, and manage the full product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through production tooling and sustainment

• Apply design for manufacturability and design for reliability principles to improve robustness, quality, yield, and long-term product performance

• Perform tolerance analysis, structural and thermal validation, and root-cause analysis on mechanical issues

• Collaborate with electrical engineering, firmware, industrial design, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing partners to ensure cohesive system integration

• Work directly with contract manufacturers and suppliers, includinginternationalpartners, to improve manufacturability and yield

• Support tooling, fixture, test-equipment design, prototype builds, factory validation, test plans, failure analysis, and design-transfer activities

• Manage andmaintainCAD data, bills of materials, engineering change orders, test plans, and other engineering documentation using Arena PDM

• Ensure compliance with Evolv quality-system and product-certification standards, including UL and CE requirements, and support risk assessments and DFMEA development

• Research emerging materials, manufacturing processes, and design methods; propose and prototype creative solutions that improve performance and cost efficiency

• Contribute to a collaborative, iterative engineering culture grounded in precision and curiosity

Compensation and Transparency Statement

The base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000- $184,000. In addition to base salary, this role offers a competitive target bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. This range reflects our commitment to pay transparency and equity, in alignment with applicable state laws. Our compensation ranges aredeterminedbased on factors such as role, level, location, market benchmarks, and internal equity. The posted rangerepresentsthe good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role across U.S. locations. Actual compensation within the range will be based on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and geographic location.

• Bachelor’s ormaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineeringor a related field

• Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, automotive, or security technology
