Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead structural design and analysis for data center products and manufacturing facilities. You will evaluate gravity, wind, seismic, and vibration for modules, frames, and racks, and develop robust, manufacturable solutions aligned with hyperscale delivery models.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, BIM, and product engineering teams to deliver code-compliant, production-ready infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience with leadership of complex systems in high-availability industrial or mission-critical facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with modular construction, prefabricated data center infrastructure, or factory-built assemblies preferred.
• Familiarity with hyperscale or colocation data center programs and platform-based delivery models is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for data center modules, frames, racks, and support structures.
• Perform gravity, wind, seismic, and vibration analyses per IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI.
• Develop seismic bracing and restraint strategies for MEP systems and equipment.
• Define foundations, steel frames, and anchorage for heavy equipment like chillers and generators.
• Collaborate with BIM/Revit teams to ensure clash-free models and proper documentation.
• Support factory integration, DFMA, and modularization for repeatable designs.
• Review shop drawings, welds, and material specs; ensure DFx alignment.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews.
