Steven Douglas Corp in Concord Township, OH, designs and builds custom automated machines. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who applies strong machine design fundamentals and creative thinking to deliver innovative automation solutions that meet customer specs.

As part of a collaborative team, you will develop concepts with SolidWorks, produce detailed layouts and BOMs, work with suppliers, monitor schedules, and support testing and startup at customer sites. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 5+ years of industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of machine design and factory automation.
• Proficient in 3D CAD; SolidWorks experience required.
• Strong decision making and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% for projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative machine concepts based on specs.
• Create detailed machine layouts and component drawings.
• Evaluate materials and finishes for parts.
• Coordinate with suppliers to research and quote components.
• Monitor schedules with project managers and adjust as needed.
• Lead design reviews and create release packages.
• Support assembly, debugging, testing, and on-site startup.
