Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead a design team from concept to final design for space-based vehicles. You will coordinate with electrical and other integration teams and drive PDP/ADP development through reviews and releases.

The role requires extensive experience in CAD modeling (Siemens NX), leadership of mechanical engineering groups, and strong program-management communication skills. U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM from an accredited university.
• 12 years with Bachelors; 10 years with Masters; 8 years with PhD in relevant experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, with ability to obtain SAP approval.
• 5+ years of experience with CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred).
• Familiar with ISO, ASME, Mil Spec, NAS, etc.
• Must have 2+ years of experience leading Mechanical Engineering and/or technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of design engineers from conceptual design to final design for a space based vehicle.
• Attend internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings.
• Support formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
• Coordinate electrical system engineering content and work products with other teams.
• Oversee PDPs/ADPs and ensure through the full review and release process.
• Review MBOMs, data sheets, mechanical ICDs, specifications, and mechanical analyses.
