Duties:
LER TechForce, LLC seeks a Powered Industrial Truck Design Engineer in Columbus, Indiana, and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. Duties: design, develop, and release components for new powered industrial truck products; develop parts, including welded steel assemblies, metal castings, plastic parts, rubber parts, multi-part assemblies, and electrical components; develop 3D models, drawings, and study files using CAD software; manage files using PDM software; ensure drawing quality by considering design intent, materials, quality, control characteristics, dimensions, tolerances, and product requirements; validate designs using FEA software; specify main system parameters and design components to meet product performance and durability requirements; participate in design reviews to ensure design quality; collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with manufacturability, cost, quality, and delivery requirements for new products; work with testing group to identify necessary tests and pass/fail criteria for prototype evaluation; create and manage simultaneous engineering design documents (DFMEA, BOM, engineer change instructions); create, manage, and execute development schedule for components to meet project deadlines.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in mechanical engineering and 2 years of experience in a product design/development position in the automotive industry. Included within the 2 years of experience, must have experience in all of the following: creating models using CAD software (CATIA, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, ProE, Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD); full product lifecycle launch; FEA/CAE analysis; DVP&R and DFMEA development; PDM software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Vault, or PTC Windchill); understanding and analyzing stamping feasibility for sheet metal products for automotive applications.
