Job summary

Herc Rentals, a leading equipment rental supplier in North America, is seeking a Mechanic A in Bryan, TX. The role leads fleet maintenance, mentors junior techs, and ensures equipment readiness through preventative and corrective service.

Strong diagnostic and electrical/hydraulic skills are essential to inspect, repair, and recondition heavy equipment. The position offers a Mon - Fri schedule, comprehensive benefits, and a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and own an adequate set of hand and air/electric tools.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple vehicles and equipment, with proficiency in diagnostic tools and fleet systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, propane and fuel systems, plus clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet maintenance operations and perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment ready for rental.
• Diagnose internal combustion engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and perform major repairs.
• Repair and service aerial and hydraulic equipment and ensure safety and reporting compliance.
• Mentor Mechanics B and C, manage work orders, and coordinate with shop lead.
• Maintain clean work area and complete detailed service logs.
