Job summary

Herc Rentals in Fairburn, GA is seeking a Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance and ensure equipment is rental-ready. You will mentor B and C level technicians and use strong electrical, hydraulic, propane and fuel-system knowledge to keep equipment in top condition.

The role requires a hands-on leader who performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work across heavy equipment, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a generous benefits package including a 401(k) match, stock purchase

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Owns a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services.
Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
Demonstrated mastery of Mechanic B and C-level tasks.
Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems.
Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

Lead fleet maintenance and maintain a consistent preventive maintenance schedule.
Operate and test equipment to meet Herc Rentals quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc fleet equipment and trucks.
Diagnose and repair engines, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems.
Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical issues and power loss.
Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist in training Mechanic C and B technicians while taking direction from the shop lead.
