Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A in Oklaunion, TX to lead fleet maintenance and diagnostics for Herc-owned equipment. The role emphasizes ensuring equipment is kept on the rental ready line, with safe and professional maintenance practices.

The Mechanic A will mentor B and C level mechanics, perform advanced diagnostics, and service heavy equipment, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Strong tool ownership and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ownership of a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Mastery of Mechanic B and C level tasks.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Operate and test equipment to meet Herc Rentals quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc fleet equipment and trucks independently.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, and related services.
• Recondition and replace parts on heavy equipment as needed.
• Diagnose wear areas and equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and produce detailed service reports.
• Follow company procedures and protocols.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
