Job summary

Lowes Foods in North Carolina is seeking a Bench Department Manager for the Meat Department to lead day-to-day operations across Concord, Kannapolis, Mooresville, and Harrisburg. This role drives sales, ensures quality meat products, and maintains cutting lists, pricing, and inventory controls.

You will supervise staff, schedule shifts, train top performers, and enforce safety and sanitation standards while delivering excellent guest service and achieving budgeted results.

Qualifications

• High school education and 3-4 years of progressive supermarket experience.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally and 25lbs constantly.
• Knowledge of meat operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements on the job.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Physical ability to bend, kneel, stand, and push/pull stock carts.

Responsibilities

• Ensures guests receive polite, friendly service from the meat department.
• Accountable for achieving budgeted financial results.
• Prepare product for sale (cut, slice, trim, wrap, weigh, and price) per standards.
• Execute merchandising programs and weekly sales themes; ensure in-stock conditions.
• Schedule the department and manage staff performance and development.
• Maintain sanitation and compliance with safe food handling practices.
• Lead training and talent development for departmental staff and future leadership.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety regulations.
