Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation seeks a Managing Director- Commercial Banking in Los Angeles to lead strategic execution, grow a book of business, and oversee major and complex loan originations in line with lending policies. You will recruit and manage a team, build client relationships, and coordinate with treasury partners for seamless service.

Required are 12+ years in banking leadership, a Bachelor’s degree, and deep knowledge of lending, compliance, and relationship management.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Advanced to expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Advanced to expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Advanced to expert experience of lending including negotiating, underwriting and coordinating the closing of major and complex loans and relationship development.
• Expert knowledge in all facets of relationship management.
• Expert speaking and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify target market for new business and develop a book of new business from those relationships.
• Negotiate, underwrite and coordinate closing of major and complex loans.
• Develop business checking and deposit relationships with customers.
• Compile and analyze market data to guide product and service recommendations.
• Engage in business development and solicit new business with target market.
• Collaborate with treasury partner to ensure seamless client experiences.
• Call and visit target customers to promote Bank products and services.
