Job summary
SAIC in San Diego, CA seeks an experienced MBSE Sr. Principal Digital Engineer to lead development and maturation of digital engineering solutions for defense and national security customers.
The role focuses on MBSE, DE, and SoS capabilities and requires onsite work in San Diego with travel up to 10%. You will mentor engineers, advance MBSE standards, and guide architecture, requirements, CONOPS, interfaces, and verification throughout the lifecycle while contributing to business development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 14+ years of related experience or advanced degree with commensurate experience.
- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
- US Citizenship is required for this role.
- Proven MBSE and digital engineering methods across defense, civilian, or national security domains.
- Advanced MBSE tools (Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody) and frameworks (SysML, UPDM, UML, UAF).
- Broad systems engineering experience across architecture, requirements, CONOPS, and verification.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of MBSE and digital engineering solutions for complex military systems.
- Build and optimize digital models for requirements capture and analysis using MBSE techniques.
- Design SoS architectures and capture complex interactions with technical coherence.
- Promote best practices to enable simulations and advanced analyses for mission success.
- Represent work in working groups and executive briefings to communicate progress.
- Mentor teams on MBSE standards and methods across projects.
- Oversee lifecycle processes including CONOPS, interfaces, and verification.
- Support business development through proposals and customer engagement.
