Job summary

SAIC is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join its Technical Engineering and Design Department in support of a United States Air Force program. This on-site role is based in San Diego, CA.

You will apply MBSE across the full lifecycle, develop system architecture models, manage requirements with traceability, and lead trade studies to mitigate risk. Collaboration with software, hardware, and test teams is essential to deliver an integrated system on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor of Science in a relevant technical field such as Systems Engineering, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of progressive systems engineering experience on complex programs.
• Strong MBSE experience with Cameo, Sparx EA, or Rhapsody.
• Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS or JAMA).
• Familiarity with DoDAF, UPDM, or UAF.
• Proven ability to conduct trade studies and risk analysis.
• INCOSE certification (CSEP or ASEP) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle of a technical program.
• Develop and maintain system architecture models using MBSE tools.
• Lead requirements definition, decomposition, and traceability.
• Conduct trade studies, analyses, and risk assessments.
• Define and manage system interfaces for interoperability.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and test teams to ensure integrated design.
• Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Prepare technical docs, models, and briefings for stakeholders.
• Work with program management to ensure on-time, on-budget solutions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the SE discipline.
