Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Materials & Processes Engineer to provide leadership in composites, structural adhesives, and other aerospace materials used in nacelle applications. You will guide material catalog strategy, approve supplier qualifications, and mentor engineers across the organization.

The role requires a STEM degree with substantial experience, strong technical writing, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree with 8+ years experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Experience leading complex engineering tasks and customer-facing activities.
• Technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
• Lead major program engineering efforts with extensive technical guidance.
• Create, maintain, and approve M&P specifications for composites, adhesives, prepregs, and aerospace materials.
• Lead investigations of process failures and drive root-cause resolution.
• Develop analysis methods to establish material property values and qualifications.
• Ensure compliance with M&P specifications, test methods, regulatory and customer requirements.
