Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a seasoned Solar Module Engineer to design, develop, and qualify manufacturing processes for solar module fabrication used in spacecraft power systems. You will work across R&D and production teams to transition materials into production, implement process controls, and ensure high-quality outputs from prototype development through high-rate manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related engineering field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or laboratory environment.
  • Experience with semiconductor, optoelectronic, or photovoltaic devices.
  • Expertise with adhesive characterization, bonding and lamination processes, encapsulation, solar cell stringing processes, coatings, or composites.
  • Familiarity with the space environment and its effect on materials.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful status to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and qualify manufacturing processes for solar module fabrication.
  • Collaborate with R&D to transition materials into production.
  • Develop and implement process controls and qualification plans.
  • Identify and solve materials and process challenges from lab to high-volume production.
  • Support integration of photovoltaic cells into solar power modules for aerospace systems.
  • Collaborate with design, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams on cell-to-module integration.
