Job summary

Blue Origin in Houston seeks an engineer to own R&D process development and qualification for solar panel module fabrication from incoming cell inspection through final PV assembly. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science or related technical field.
  • 7+ years hands-on experience in manufacturing process development.
  • Ownership mindset with initiative and closure on issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative team player with clear communication across disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Own process development and qualification for SPM fabrication.
  • Lead equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
  • Drive VSM and takt time analysis from prototype to high-rate production.
  • Develop PFMEAs and control plans; lead root-cause investigations.
  • Author process specs, work instructions, and traveler docs per AS9100.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Contribute to cost-reduction through yield and cycle-time improvements.
