Job summary

BlueLinx is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to load and unload materials, operate a forklift safely, and maintain orderly stock in the distribution center. Team players who prioritize safety and service are encouraged to apply.

The role supports our warehouse operations with daily truck and railcar movement, paperwork for distribution, and routine equipment checks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport product, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently, at times under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders and safety material.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.
