Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator for our distribution center. The role focuses on safely loading trucks and unloading railcars while maintaining safety and high service quality.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift to move products.
• Ability to read and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently, sometimes under pressure.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to read sales orders, purchase orders, and safety materials.
• Detail oriented and organized with basic math skills.
• Safe work history and stable employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars with minimal damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness in the work area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts.
