Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our distribution center in the United States.

This full-time role offers a fixed hourly wage with a Monday–Friday schedule, focusing on safe operation of forklift equipment and efficient handling of building materials. You will load/unload, transport, store, and document materials, while performing routine equipment inspections and maintaining a clean workspace.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.
