Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Principal Material Estimator in McKinney, TX. This hybrid role involves developing material proposals, validating supplier quotes, and leading Basis of Estimates to ensure compliant, sound material costing for complex contracts.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years, and are proficient in MS Office including Excel. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Experience with MS Office, including Excel for large data sets, formulas and pivot tables.
• U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze and complete material proposals and the Material Cost Summary.
• Collaborate across functions to evaluate material and direct costs for proposed contracts.
• Utilize estimating and pricing programs and tools.
• Lead development of Material Basis of Estimates, tracking progress and validating quotes.
• Ensure proposals comply with FAR and internal requirements as the material point of contact.
• Analyze inputs to ensure sound material estimates and packaging.
