Job summary

RTX in Texas, McKinney, is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to develop and analyze material proposals for contracts. You will work with cross‑functional teams to evaluate costs and utilize estimating tools while ensuring compliance with FAR and internal requirements.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field with several years of experience; U.S. citizenship is required due to government access controls. Hybrid work arrangement in the US is provided.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • U.S. citizenship is required to access the financial management system.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and TINA in federal proposals is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the development, analysis and completion of material proposals.

What You Will Do
  • Be responsible for the development, analysis and completion of material proposals.
  • Work with other functions from across the company to understand and evaluate the material and other direct costs associated with proposed contracts and the associated program.
  • Utilize company estimating and pricing programs and tools.
  • Lead the development of Material Basis of Estimates to include tracking progress, validating and analyzing supplier quotes and Purchase Order History, ensuring consistency across the program, and confirming the estimating approach is sound.
  • Ensure proposals comply with all FAR and internal requirements.
  • Assess, develop and implement solutions leading to a thorough material package.
  • Perform detailed and complex analysis of inputs to ensure soundness in our material estimates.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related/applicable field and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (ex. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
