Job summary

EMD Electronics in the United States is seeking a seasoned Production Planner to develop and maintain the master production schedule for assigned products and production areas, balancing demand, capacity, materials, labor, and inventory objectives.

You will translate forecasts, customer requirements, and supply priorities into executable production plans, collaborating across production, materials management, procurement, quality, maintenance, warehouse, and customer service teams to resolve

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, materials planning, or other supply chain role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze data to drive planning decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across manufacturing and supply chain teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the master production schedule for assigned products and production areas, balancing demand, capacity, materials, labor, and inventory objectives.
• Translate forecasts, customer requirements, and supply priorities into executable production plans.
• Collaborate with production, materials management, procurement, quality, maintenance, warehouse, and customer service teams to resolve constraints and align execution with the plan.
• Monitor schedule adherence, inventory levels, material availability, capacity, and KPIs; identify risks and propose recovery actions.
• Maintain planning parameters and production master data, including lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, bills of material, and routings in planning systems.
• Use SAP planning/execution information to review requirements, update schedules, and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Participate in demand and supply planning reviews; analyze schedule changes, backlog, capacity gaps, and inventory exposure.
• Drive continuous improvement to planning processes, schedule stability, data quality, and cross-functional ways of working.
• Coordinate daily schedule updates and rapid response to unplanned downtime, material shortages, and demand changes.
