We are seeking an experienced Master Production Scheduler to manage and maintain production schedules across multiple product lines and manufacturing cells. This role is responsible for translating customer demand, forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity into an executable manufacturing plan.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with long-range production planning and forecasting, with the ability to look several months ahead while continuously adjusting near-term schedules based on changing demand, material availability, and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) across multiple product lines and manufacturing cells.
- Forecast production requirements several months in advance based on customer demand, backlog, historical trends, and anticipated business needs.
- Balance production demand against labor, equipment, material, and manufacturing capacity.
- Manage competing priorities across multiple products and work centers while maintaining realistic production commitments.
- Monitor inventory, material availability, lead times, and capacity constraints that may impact the production schedule.
- Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Program Management to align production priorities.
- Identify potential bottlenecks, shortages, and capacity issues in advance and develop recovery or mitigation plans.
- Adjust schedules as priorities, customer requirements, or manufacturing conditions change.
- Track schedule performance and communicate risks, delays, and changes to key stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate planning and scheduling information within the company's ERP/MRP system.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, manufacturing planning, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience managing production schedules across multiple product lines, manufacturing cells, or work centers.
- Strong experience with long-range forecasting and capacity planning.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing planning principles.
- Ability to analyze demand, capacity, inventory, and material requirements to build achievable production plans.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage frequently changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, engineering, and leadership.
- Experience in a complex manufacturing environment preferred.
