Job summary

American International Group (AIG) is seeking a Casualty Coverage and Mass Tort Senior Claims Adjuster to address challenging claims and coverage issues for long‑tail bodily injury, property damage, and environmental exposures. You will collaborate with claims, underwriting and legal teams, managing counsel and strategies to achieve favorable resolutions.

The position emphasizes in‑office collaboration, with a focus on leadership and advanced technical proficiency in casualty and mass tort

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Legal, Insurance, Construction Defect or Environmental experience preferred.
• Ability to handle complex claims involving diverse coverage issues related to GL and Environmental policies.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, along with excellent communication, negotiation and investigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate coverage on sophisticated insurance products; hire and manage counsel to defend insureds.
• Assess damages with support of outside experts; evaluate financial impact to AIG and to insureds.
• Formulate and execute strategies for favorable claim resolution; negotiate with insureds and third parties.
• Advise business partners concerning exposures and potential product changes and enhancements.
• Advise claims and business leaders on emerging risks.
