Job summary

IMEG in Manassas, VA is hiring a Senior Surveyor to lead daily survey operations supporting construction layout, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys. The role requires advanced surveying knowledge and the ability to deliver accurate project data under the guidance of a Senior Land Surveyor.

Candidates must have a BS or AS in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), a Land Surveyor License, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, and MS Office. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required.
• 8 years of experience minimum; 12 preferred in building design/construct ion industry.
• Land Surveyor (LS) License required.
• Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles and practices.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex survey work for construction stakeout, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys.
• Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports.
• Produce boundary reductions, determinations, and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software.
• Maintain and verify the accuracy of project survey data and manage survey databases.
• Review survey production, field notes, and final products for quality control.
• Prepare survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and crew instructions for construction staking.
