Job summary

Perplexity is hiring an experienced Communications & Marketing Recruiter to help build the teams responsible for how our company and products are positioned, launched, explained, and experienced. You will lead searches across Communications, Marketing, Social, Editorial, Content, Events and related functions.

You will partner with leaders to define each search, map the market, assess candidates, and close the people who can raise the quality of the work with a strong emphasis on candidate

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting across Communications and Marketing.
• Experience hiring in Product Marketing, Corporate or Executive Communications, Editorial, Content, Social Media, Brand, Growth, Demand Generation, Field Marketing, or Events.
• Track record partnering with senior Communications or Marketing leaders on difficult searches.
• Strong judgment to differentiate backgrounds across disciplines.
• Ability to write credible outreach, briefs, and candidate communication.
• Experience recruiting in a high-growth startup or fast-moving environment.
• Hands-on use of AI tools to improve sourcing and workflows.
• Proficient with modern ATS; Ashby experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting across the Communications & Marketing team.
• Partner with leaders from intake through close; translate briefs into candidate profiles and sourcing strategies.
• Build talent maps across technology companies, consumer brands, enterprise software, media, and agencies.
• Develop discipline-specific sourcing strategies and identify where strong candidates build reputations.
• Evaluate candidates beyond titles; review portfolios and campaign results.
• Help teams build structured work-sample and portfolio reviews.
• Offer readers on pipeline quality, compensation, and market state.
• Represent Perplexity clearly and credibly to candidates.
• Run the candidate process from first conversation to close, including senior candidates with competing offers.
• Use AI tools for research, sourcing, outreach, and recruiting operations.
• Track pipeline health and adjust strategy to avoid stalls.
