Job summary

VDC Strategy in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Analyst & Consultant who can independently lead research and consulting engagements, work directly with clients, and translate complex market information into clear strategic recommendations.

This role suits an experienced market researcher, industry analyst, or consultant who owns projects, performs primary research, analyzes emerging technology markets, and presents findings directly to senior executives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in market research, industry research, market or competitive intelligence, strategy consulting, or a related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing research or consulting projects.
  • Experience conducting primary and secondary research and analyzing quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Experience with market analysis and some combination of market sizing, forecasting, competitive analysis, segmentation, or opportunity assessment.
  • Strong client-facing experience, including presenting research findings and recommendations to clients or senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, writing, Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage market research and consulting projects from research design through final client presentation.
  • Conduct primary research with customers, technology companies, channel partners, and industry experts.
  • Analyze markets, competitors, customer needs, and emerging technology trends.
  • Develop market sizing models, forecasts, competitive landscapes, and opportunity assessments.
  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative research into clear insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Present research findings and recommendations directly to clients, including senior executives.
  • Contribute to engagements involving growth strategy, market entry, product strategy, competitive intelligence, and commercial due diligence.
  • Develop reports, presentations, webinars, and other thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with VDC colleagues and provide guidance to junior analysts when appropriate.

We are looking for a Senior Analyst & Consultantwho can independently lead research and consulting engagements, work directly with clients, and turn complex market information into clear strategic recommendations.

This is an opportunity for an experienced market researcher, industry analyst, or consultant who enjoys owning projects, conducting primary research, analyzing complex markets and presenting findings directly to clients.

You do not need prior expertise in the technologies we cover. We are looking for someone with strong research and consulting experience who is curious about technology and can quickly learn new markets.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in market research, industry research, market or competitive intelligence, strategy consulting, or a related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing research or consulting projects.
  • Experience conducting primary and secondary research and analyzing quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Experience with market analysis and some combination of market sizing, forecasting, competitive analysis, segmentation, or opportunity assessment.
  • Strong client-facing experience, including presenting research findings and recommendations to clients or senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, writing, Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Interest in learning complex and emerging technology markets.
