Job summary

VDC Strategy in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Analyst & Consultant to lead market research and consulting projects, from research design through client presentation.

You will interview customers, technology firms, and experts, analyze markets and trends, build sizing models and forecasts, and turn data into actionable recommendations for senior executives and investors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in market research, industry research, market or competitive intelligence, strategy consulting, or a related analytical role.
• Experience conducting primary and secondary research and analyzing quantitative and qualitative information.
• Experience with market analysis, market sizing, forecasting, competitive analysis, segmentation, or opportunity assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead market research and consulting projects from initial research design through client presentation.
• Conduct interviews with customers, technology companies, channel partners, and industry experts.
• Analyze markets, competitors, customer needs, and emerging technology trends.
• Build market sizing models and forecasts and conduct competitive and opportunity assessments.
• Turn research and data into clear insights and strategic recommendations.
• Present findings directly to clients, including senior executives.
• Contribute to projects involving growth strategy, market entry, product strategy, competitive intelligence, and commercial due diligence.
• Develop research reports, presentations, webinars, and other thought leadership.
• Work closely with VDC colleagues and help mentor junior analysts.

We are looking for a Senior Analyst & Consultant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced market researcher, industry analyst, or consultant who enjoys digging into complex markets, talking with industry experts, analyzing data, and turning research into recommendations clients can act on.

You do not need to be an expert in the technologies we cover. We are looking for someone with strong research and analytical skills who is curious about technology and can quickly learn new markets.

What We're Looking For

• Experience conducting primary and secondary research and analyzing quantitative and qualitative information.
• Experience with some combination of market analysis, market sizing, forecasting, competitive analysis, segmentation, or opportunity assessment.
• Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
• Comfortable presenting research and recommendations to clients.
• Ability and interest in learning complex and emerging technology markets.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
