Job summary

Aspen Technology, Inc. is seeking a senior Market Research Leader to guide research programs across our industrial software markets. You will design studies, synthesize insights, and partner with product, marketing and sales to shape strategy.

You will lead Voice of Customer programs, segment markets, and monitor competitive moves, translating data into actionable recommendations for go-to-market plans and product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, strategic marketing, product marketing, management consulting, or business strategy in high-tech industries.
• Exceptional analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills with strong executive presentation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop market sizing methodologies using industry data and customer input.
• Identify new logo targets in emerging markets to support business development priorities.
• Analyze dynamics across traditional and emerging industrial software markets.
• Synthesize findings into actionable insights for product, marketing, and sales strategy.
• Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research to understand customer pain points and decision criteria.
• Lead VoC programs including surveys and interviews with customers, experts, and executives.
• Identify customer profiles and maturity readiness for new solutions.
• Monitor competitor roadmaps, pricing strategies, GTM motions, partnerships, acquisitions, and financial performance.
