Zusammenfassung

Clearway Energy Group seeks a Senior Associate to become a Western market SME, forecasting energy prices, curtailment risk, ancillary services, capacity, and RECs while enhancing market models for project development, M&A, and hedging activities.

You will lead long-term market modeling across the Western US, monitor regulatory inputs, and integrate data insights into strategic decisions for renewable and gas assets. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Power, Economics, and/ or Business, or comparable.
• Minimum of 4 years of analytical experience in energy trading or similar.
• Experience in power market modeling including RA and REC price forecasting.
• Production cost modeling with Aurora, PROMOD, PLEXOS or Encompass.
• Strong written and verbal viewpoints and clarity.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in data mining with large datasets.

Aufgaben

• Update transmission upgrades, load forecasts, generation buildout and fuel prices; form views on hub/RA/REC prices.
• Quantify impact of demand forecasts and outages on asset operations.
• Provide analytical insights from modeling results for risk management and trading.
• Automate data flows in modeling ecosystems using AI, Python, SQL or Excel.
• Lead development of a long-term fundamental market model for Western US.
• Incorporate regulatory updates and inputs for IRPs, RPS goals, and transmission plans.
• Support greenfield and project siting using modeling insights.
• Validate external studies to support project financing.
• Maintain input/output datasets for long-term market models.
